One Health Zoonotic Disease Prioritization Facilitator Training in Phuket, Thailand
HSP and CDC Host One Health Zoonotic Disease Prioritization ASEAN Regional Facilitator Training in Phuket, Thailand from April 24-28, 2023 Health Security Partners collaborated with the quadripartite (WHO, WOAH, FAO, UNEP) and the U.S. CDC to host the One Health Zoonotic Disease Prioritization Facilitator Training in Phuket, Thailand from April 24-28, 2023. In attendance were 64 nominees across the One Health sector from Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, Lao, Thailand, Papua New Guinea, and Vietnam; 25 representatives from the quadripartite and CDC-Country Offices; and 13 CDC-One Health, CDC-Thailand, and Health Security Partners staff. The goal of the workshop was to train nominees from the ASEAN countries as facilitators in order to be able to host their own country-specific One Health Zoonotic Disease Prioritization workshops. The process will assist countries to strengthen One Health disease surveillance by prioritizing diseases of interest. The HSP team worked tirelessly over the last few months to arrange hotels, ground and air travel, per diem, and visa logistics for all nominees; print and translate materials for the workshop; and coordinate with the hotel to ensure the conference rooms are properly set up. The first follow-on country-specific OHZDP workshop will be held in Cambodia in late May 2023.
